Good day,
I need some advice on the below case:
- Male Canadian married to an Indian Woman. Both living outside Canada in the Middle-East.
- Sponsorship application received in May-2016
- Application process started in Jun-2016
- Wife PR application started in Aug-2016.
- All documents included medical were submitted and the file is in New Delhi
- Due to the lengthy processing time, the office in New Delhi requested to redo the medicals. The wife is now pregnant so she was not able to complete fully the medicals (all test done except X-ray). The same was communicated to the New Delhi Office. So the file is now on hold till the X-ray is completed.
The situation has now changed due to employment assignment and the couple are not able to move to Canada now. However they still plan to move to Canada after 5-6 years.
To complicate the case, the wife is also entitled to get a European Passport but she would have to give up her Indian passport.
The question is what should be the recommendation considering that the couple (with their upcoming baby) have plans to migrate to Canada in the future? Note that the baby will have an Indian passport as the father was born outside Canada (the father got his Canadian citizenship by birth but was born outside Canada). If the mother gets the European passport, the baby is also entitled to have the European passport.
1- Is there a way to pause the sponsorship process and re-apply in the future?
2- What if the sponsorship process is stopped now and the wife/baby gets a European passport. Can the family re-apply in the future for PR with this new European passport? Will this complicate the case in the future?
Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback and advice.
With Kind Regards,
