Hi there . I am a permanent resident of Canada. I got my permanent Residency in March 2013 . I am on a minimal wage here in canada .I wanted to sponsor my wife . I had a doubt that I have a personal bank loan (new Car loan) here in canada , so while applying for my wife I need to submit my bank account statement which would reflect the loan amount . So wanted to know that will there be any problem while sponsoring my wife because I have a loan ? Are there any chances of application getting rejected ?

Wont be a problem, but you need to show them how you plan on supporting your wife when she arrives.

there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship. CIC is mostly concerned with welfare. If you haven't used welfare, you are fine. There are many successful sponsors who have low/no income.

Thanks a lot I have a permenent job and enough finance (as per mentioned by CIC )to support my wife when she gets here .The only thing I was worried about was my car Loan. Got relief now . Otherwise I was planning on selling my car . Thanks again .

Your best bet is to apply and make sure you submit all of your proof. Good luck!

bank loans definitely have nothing to do with spousal sponsorship. CIC isn't going to care.

miheer86 Just to be sure, you said you got your permanent residency in March of 2013. I assume that was through a sponsorship other than a former spouse sponsoring you. If on the other hand you were sponsored by a spouse in March 2013 then I believe you have to wait 5 years to sponsor a new spouse. This information is given just because I do not know how were received your PR and I thought it would be good to insure you had this information in case it was needed. Best of luck in the process and have a happily ever after :)
