Hi all

I have a problem and I am not sure if this will cause a lot of trouble in my spousal sponsorship application.

I have my spouse who is living outside of canada. I am preparing an outbound application.

I noticed that her passport has a different family name than the family name in her dad's passport.

What happened is that her family name is the third name in her father's given name. and her dad's family name is not included in her passport. Is that a problem ?

To clarify here is an example

Her name is : Elizabeth Taylor John Smith
Her dad is : Taylor John Smith Obama

Is that a problem ?

Please help

Do birth certificates in her home country have parents names on them? If yes, what is listed as her father's name?

No, it won't cause any problems. They are concerned about your wifes name, not the name of your father in law. Just be sure you list her name in her application as it appears on her legal documents.
