Hi everyone,
I need some guidance on marrying my boy friend who is in India and has a good IT job. Here is brief summary about us. We know each other for almost 8 yrs and we had dated before I moved to canada abt 5 yrs ago. We were in good terms with each other though we parted ways. Then I gave it a thought about it and had been together past 2 yrs now. He has visited me twice in Canada - last june and past feb. We told our parents in India and my side disapproved it.
His parents are confused about what to do so we are thinking to do this.
1)Wedding @ Canada - We will probably do a simple Hindu Temple Ceremony or a civic ceremony with couple of friends as my parents disapproved him for marriage. We may exchange rings or he might tie the Mangalsutra in temple if allowed.
After the wedding here I will submit my spousal sponsorship application.
2) No Marriage in India likely as we are already wedded.
3) His parents might keep only reception in India to avoid issues from my family. Or if my parents agree after we married her then they might do the reception and wedding.
We are thinking he can come over here ASAP and get this done and inform my family. I tried my best to convince but you know how things work when caste is involved.
We have proofs from the past includes pics, chat history, phone history, emails. Please let me know if this is going to be a red flag with CIC.
@PMM @scylla @canuck_in_uk @jes_ON - can you please help?
Thank you.
