Currently they are reviewing the eligibility of the principal applicant and also doing the background check. The file has yet to be transferred from Sydney. It was received January 7.

If there is an interview....typically when does it happen?

We want to plan a trip but don't want to be away if there is potentially an interview coming.

Typically no interview - only when they have concerns the relationship is not genuine. If there's an interview, it will happen after the application has been transferred to the local visa office.

Ok. Thanks. I see a lot of people on here needing to go to interviews so I wasn't sure. I thought it was more common to be called to an interview for spousal sponsorship

Applicant's country of origin can be a factor.
