Hello,

I recently applied to sponsor my common-law partner through an inland application. We live in Montreal but I am applying to grad school this fall and am looking at programs in other provinces. Since we submitted the application while in Quebec, I didn't have to submit certain parts of the application (financial information) that are required in the rest of Canada. Are we stuck in Quebec until the application is approved? I don't want to waste my time and money applying to programs that I wouldn't be able to accept. Or is there a possibility to send in the additional information required by the rest of Canada? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi

You really should have applied outland. Paris is a very fast office, averaging around 6 months or so, compared to the 2 years for inland.

You can move mid process. If CIC wants any further info, they will request it. The issue is that until you actually move, you are subject to the Quebec requirement of needing to apply a CSQ. I believe that it is usually requested near the end of stage 1, so if you move before then, you shouldn't have to apply for it.
