Hello All. Sorry for opening another topic, but I am looking for some answers. Hope all you experienced people can help me. So I became a PR of Canada through skilled migration in October 2015. I was in Canada for a month and then came back to home country. In the meantime, I have gotten engaged and planning to get married by December. I have following questions:

1) Do I have to let CIC know about marriage now or after obtaining all legal documents in Dec?
2) As PR only, can I sponsor my spouse from outside Canada? I do not want to go to Canada without my spouse. Hence, during the whole application process both of us will be outside of Canada.

You only need to inform them when you actually apply for your spouse's PR.

No, you must be physically residing in Canada to submit a PR app, and while it processes. You can leave for short/temporary vacations only.

1) No - you don't.
2) No - you cannot sponsor your spouse from outside of Canada. If you don't want to be separated, your spouse will have to travel with you as a visitor to Canada so that you can sponsor them once you are in Canada. If your spouse requires a TRV to visit Canada and that TRV is refused, you would need to move to Canada on your own ahead of your spouse.
