I applied for my wife's "outland" spousal visa application back in February 2025. She is already here on a visit visa and currently residing with me.
On Aug 20,2025 I received an email in my personal inbox from IRCC London asking to submit her passport, the email mentioned 4 steps:
1. Change in circumstances: Asking to report any changes in status, family composition, residential address etc to IRCC London immediately
2. Passport requirement - Determine if you need to submit a passport: It stated that If your passport is from a country whose citizens need a visa to travel to Canada, you will need to submit your original passport(s), even if you have a valid Canadian temporary residence visa or permit.
3. Prepare your documents: They asked for one copy of the email, Passport, 2 photos of the applicant
4. Submit your documents: There were 2 parts here A and B
A) if you are currently overseas you need to submit to the nearest VFS office
B) If you are currently in Canada: You are not required to submit your passport and will be landed virtually. Please advise our office via webform within 5 days of receipt of this letter if you and/or any of your dependents are in Canada. Please include each person’s name/UCI and where they are currently staying/residing (in Canada or overseas).
As my wife is already here, i took action on 4B, I sent an email on the London visa office email plus the webform (in the above text) stating that my wife is already here and to update her current residential address to Canadian address too. I also requested a Virtual landing request in the same email+webform. We received automated messages of receipt from both email+webform and were wating for there response until today.
We just received an email from them saying:
"You were asked on 20/08/2025 to provide your passport and documents and information within 30 days for COPR issuance.
Should you be unable to provide the information and/or other documents requested you must advise us in writing detailing the reasons why you cannot provide the document/information requested. You must provide this written explanation in lieu of the document requested.
If you choose not to respond with additional information within 30 days, I will make my decision based on the information before me, which may result in the refusal of your application."
Now I can also see an upload button for additional documents in my online application. Should I just simply upload all the documents they requested in step 3 as a single PDF? also how do i inform them that shes currently residing in Canada? I already did that on the webform but it seems like they didnt get it? Those who had to go through virtual landing process for outland. Did they face anything similar?
