Spousal open work permit

hi,


i am on studey permit and my wife wish to apply for spousal open work permit.
what are the proof of fund she is supposed to show. she has recently resigned from her job which was not really well paid.
but, my parents have funds. so, can i ask them to write a reference/sponsorship letter for her?
