Hello friends,

I'm preparing for spousal invitation immigration and have a question about a national identity card.
My national ID is issued in Korean and do I need to get translated/notarized? There is no instruction in Basic guide or Complete guide. How did you guys do?

Cheers

The official CIC on-line help pages are very clear on this:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...-guide-sponsor-your-spouse-partner-child.html

About 1/3rd of the way down, under the heading 'Step 4: Gather your documents' it says

Unless stated in your checklist, you must attach the following for any documents that are not in English or French:
  • a certified copy of the original document; and
  • the English or French translation; and
  • an affidavit from the person who completed the translation.
