Sponsorship with criminal background in different country

My husband a canadian citizen, is looking to sponsor me, a US citizen. I'm just looking for info on criminal back rounds and sponsorship. My husband served two years
In prison in the US for attempted burglary. That was a year
Ago. We have two children both who are candian/us ( dual citizenships ) will this have an effect ? The only thing I read is having a criminal background in canada so I'm confused.

But I believe since your husband is Canadian, this will not effect your sponsorship.

Sometimes if the sponsor has a criminal record it effects it, but that's usually if its a domestic abuse case, or something along the lines of that.
