I’m sponsoring a spouse and have a Canadian passport.
I have a question, which I’m relatively confused on.. appreciate any insight..
Anyways, for one of the questions it ask if we are currently living together. Currently, I stay in Russia with my wife( I don’t work here, or do anything much.. but I’m here for the summer). Now, my work and everything is in Canada still. Do we say we “live” together now, yes or no? Technically I’m just visiting Russia, but I’m not living here because I don’t have my house or any other sorts. If they ask for proof that we lived together, I don’t have much. I’m simply staying with wife and her parents, which makes me answer this question as no. Could anyone correct me if I’m wrong, or provide insight?

appreciate it!!

Depends on circumstances - eg how long have you been in Russia now and how long you've been married, etc.

Personally (partially based on facts): I'd say you live together and show what documentation you have to show you are together - even if modest (address shown to Russian authorities could help). Include a letter of explanation that you will return to canada in eg september (tickets for both legs of visit are helpful). When you return to Canada, update your address with IRCC (to show you have returned).

If it's a very short visit, this would be silly.

Note, 'living together' and documented is critical if it's a common law relationship. If you've lived together before and long relationship, probably doesn't matter. (If youv'e lived together in the past show that info too)

In most cases though showing you are spending time residing together helps show genuine relationship. If you don't have any documents to show you are lviing together - photographic evidence. (It might be a bit excessive to show photographs with eg newspapers held up to show the date - it's not a kidnapping - but to show context with parents and that it's recent is a good idea). Some have done thigns like show bills, deliveries of food and goods to the house in one / both names (relevant in Russia b/c wildberries ozon and the like are common, and otherwise not many good docs to show factual address, no joint accounts).

Anyway what I'm getting at is it partially depends how hard it will be to show genuine relationship and marriage. You'll have to decide based on context.

Good luck.
