Although a little outdated as it is from early 2012 (therefore does not mention the new rules re conditional permanent residency).

Thanks for posting this link. It is now making more sense... honestly, it is a good idea to get an experienced lawyer from the start of this process especially if you haven't dated/been married for long with kids, have potential red flags, etc.

Absolutely agree with you. It is also very important to choose a reputable lawyer who charges by the hour and not a flat rate, the reason for this would be: hourly = quality and flat fee = quantity

I have been in the legal field for few years (commercial), and have experienced the difference between lawyers who work for a flat fee vs lawyers who work at an hourly rate. Huge difference in service and unfortunately the cost, but in the end it should be worth it.
