Hi All

I would like some help on how to deal with the following situation:

My husband is in Canada currently, for the past 1 year and applied for sponsorship, a few months back, for our baby daughter , who was born outside Canada. The currents status shows “In Process”.
I am currently in Dubai and now I need to enter with baby as I will otherwise not be able to meet the 2/5 residency obligation.

How shall we move forward in this case?
Also in case she’s granted TRV/TRP , will it be possible for us to visit our native , in case of any emergency?

Appreciate a response from people who have experienced the same or are knowledgeable to comment on our case.

Thanks in advance.

You basically have 2 options to stay in compliance with RO:
1. Get a TRV/TRP granted for your baby, and come to Canada with her before you are in violation of the RO
2. If she's denied a TRV/TRP, then travel to Canada on your own and leave baby with another family member

If neither of these are possible, then you would need to remain in your home country. After your baby's PR is approved, you could only travel to Canada if your PR card is not yet expired. Even if it's still valid, you may be reported upon entry to Canada for not meeting RO, and could have your PR revoked. If this happens, your husband can apply to sponsor you again but you would then need your own TRV to remain in Canada.

If back in Canada before your baby gets PR, whether you can travel back to home country over the next few years depends on what kind of TRV your baby gets (single entry or multiple entry), and how many days you would have to stay in compliance with RO.
