sponsorship got denied due to violent criminal record in canada

does any one here know past applications that got denied for sponsorship due to a violent criminal record? what happened and how they got denied? thanks for the answers in advance...

They would be denied because you cannot sponsor a spouse of you were convicted of attempting, threatening to commit or committing a violent criminal offence, any offence against a relative or any sexual offence inside or outside Canada.
