Sponsorship for spouse processed in Guatemala

Hi everybody,
Does anyone know the most recent processing time or have some updated time lines for Sponsorship(spouse) processed in Guatemala?

My husband is a Guatemalan Citizen. His refugee claim was denied last month, in order to not to get the ARC, he decided to leave Canada voluntarily within 45 days of the decision which will be next week. I can't sponsor him until December due to a previous undertaking. Our four months old daughter will have to leave with him because I have to go back to work and take care of the elder daughter. It is so stressful cuz we don't know how long the process will take in Guatemala. I have been reading and researching, seems like Canadian embassy in Guatemala is not that efficient, a lot of people claim from 12 to 32 months. It's about 3 YEARS!!! Is this true??
Since he was a refugee claimant before, it will be very unlikely for him to get a visitor visa. Has anyone tried the visitor visa while the sponsorship application?

PR applications for Guatemala are being processed in Mexico City.

The application is 2 steps:
Sponsor - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp - Approximately 2 months
Applicant - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp - Between 6 and 18 months

From the second link, it reports the time for 80% of the applications. However, there is also a spreadsheet that gives a bit more detailed breakdown

20% of cases - under 6 months
30% of cases - under 8 months
50% of cases - under 11 months
70% of cases - under 15 months
80% of cases - under 18 months

The embassy in Guatemala does not process immigration application. The Mexico City visa office handles all application processing for Guatemala. See:
