Hello Everyone, Its my first time up here and I have multiple questions about my sponsorship here in Canada: I am sponsoring my husband. I lived in Hungary previously for the last 3 years (with hime, its when we met)and just moved back with him 4 months ago. Now my sponsorship form is asking me to get income tax forms and income for the past 12 months. How do I proceed? Are they interested in my income from Hungary? Or the income I had since I am back?I have been working for 2 months already since I am back...I did not file my past 3 years of income-tax return.

Hi Moncsi and welcome to the forum.. you will find many answers here and lots of support from others in your situation. What they are interested in is that you haven't been in collection of social assistance and have an undischarged bankruptcy. You could supply them with a copy of your pay stub and explain in a cover letter why you haven't filed your taxes and that you were working in Hungary.. They aren't interested in the income part of it as I assume will be just you and your husband.. if you have kids as well the income requirement doesn't come into play.. it's only if your dependants have dependants of their own.. Are you applying inland or outland?

Any particular reason? What visa office would you be dealing with if you weren't doing inland.. I just find most outland applications go a lot smoother and faster..

I know actually because we have been told:we did some research in the matter already. Vienna...We are already here with my parents and it would not be cost efficient to go back. Our trip here cost us a lot on our credit card already. It would be a lot more if we went back now to proceed from there. We originally came to work in Canada eventually for a few years because of the economic situation and not being able to find a job there that would pay for our mortgage that went up by almost 50%. We are unable to sell due to the fact: our hungarian money lost its value greatly and our loan is in swish francs.

Oh, but it's Vienna! See my signature for how quickly they can finish things off.

If you want to file outland, you can do it from Canada. I guess you should check this, but I think Vienna would be willing to send you the passport back to Canada. They mailed it to me in Slovenia. If you're lucky and no interview is required, then you wouldn't ever have to leave Canada at all.

Of course, one should assume that things could go wrong and if you can't afford a trip to Austria for the interview, then certainly file inland. How is your husband in Canada now? Will he be able to stay in Canada until processing is finished? If yes, then you have no issues.

Thanks Mitamata!!
He can only stay here until August...By then he may have a workpermit. Is he still ok?

I'm not an expert on inland apps. From what I know though, you should be able to get an extension on his visitor's status when you file his application. Hopefully somebody else can give you the details.

I will tell you this though. If he's required to take an interview and he's unable to come to Canada for it (for whatever reason), the application automatically fails and since it's an inland application, you can't appeal. You can only reapply.

He is a visitor here currently. Although he does not need a Visa to Canada, he may have to leave...or have a status of some sort? What would he apply for the times in between? While he is waiting for the sponsorship to finalize?
