sponsorship common law partner while on a working visum

Hi there,

Me and my partner are looking for options. He is currently applying for a PR, I am an IEC and hope to get on a working visa next year.
However, both applications are not sure and we are therefore looking for other opportunities.

My partner has a working permit until the end of 2019. Could he sponsor his common-law partner (me) so that I can stay and work too?

You should post your questions to the Foreign Worker section of the forum instead.

To answer your question, you can apply for an open work permit if he has a NOC A, B or 0 job and if you have lived together for at least one year continuously (and can prove it).
