i might be cancelling my application. after waiting for 7 months now and still nothing. i fully paid everything. just wondering if there is any refund. My wife's mom is giving us a hard time and threatening me that she'll have me deported. my wife and i are still in good terms. although we can continue with the appliation i'm worried to have some records with the immigration. ( i have a legal status it's just the mom is mad at me)

The processing probably has started so you won't get the $550 back, only the $490 RPRF , if you have paid it.

So what are you going to do - break up because her mom is mad at you? Her mom needs to get her own life and leave you two alone.

Seven months of waiting is not unusual - and unless you're in Canada illegally, her threats to get you deported are empty. Don't take the bait - the surest way to get deported (or to not be able to get PR at all) is to get into some kind of altercation with her mother and get yourself into trouble with the law. Just stay away from her. There's nothing she can really do to get you deported without your cooperation.

What type of application did you file - inland or outland? You say you and your wife are still on "good terms" - does that mean you're still together? What kind of "records" are you worried about having with immigration?

RobsLuv,

you're right.. everybody said that. i don't know what's wrong with her. funny thing is my wife and her mom are still in florida for holidays. i'm just taking it easy here and suddenly she kicked me out of the house. oh well it's really a long story. i could tell you but you might get bored. it feels good letting it out though.

I am legally staying hear i supposed. I have my refugee claim and the sponsorship application. I won't get into any altercation with her. it's not worth it. i am not going down to her level. i did stay away from her.

we filed inland. we are still together. my only worry is i'm staying with my relatives right now and she's trying to find a place and be on her own. she's still on holidays but she'll be back monday. by then she'll probably be staying with me until she finds a place. i respect her decision as i know it's really hard for her cause she's caught up in the middle. eventually we'll live in together again i guess she needs some time with all the drama right now.

records of complaint is what i'm worried about. what if she called and just complaint about something and they just put a note on my records.

i gotta ask you something too, i also have a chance to apply with PNP as both my employers are willing to help me with that. i work 2 full time jobs. and they're willing to give me LMO as well so i can withdraw my refugee claim. what would you do if i were you?
