When filing for sponsorship do you have to file for a visitor extension if your 6 months is up or does the sponsorship paperwork give you implied status once sent in?
my husband is sponsoring me in canada and i am an american. Need response ASAP! thak you!

If you complete a Spousal Sponsorship, in the end of the application, the applicant get's a Visa to enter Canada on. Then get's PR later.

Depends on when your status is due to expire, if your spousal sponsorship application is going to be received by IRCC before your status expires, and if you're going to be including an OWP with the application.
