Please point me towards a thread if there is already one existing :D

it seems, judging by a lot of the posts/threads that a lot of people are the persons' being sponsored. Can we dedicate a thread to the sponsors here ? :)

It was a big hard decision me and my husband had to make, chosing to live in Canada or New Zealand But since I have a good job here, and he is gauranteed a job once he's legal here with my work, it was easier to select Canada.

So I am sponsoring him to live here. I hope it won't be an issue.

One thing that worries me, about 10 years ago I married my first husband and sponsored him from the UK, I haven't been his sponsor for 7 years, and he's happily remaried with a family to another canadian lady. But I'm afraid in the eyes of the government I will look like a serial sponsor! That's the only thing that worries me about it :(

They won't look at you as a serial sponsor - but wouldn't your sponsorship undertaking have been for 10 years? It only recently changed to 3 years, and I don't know if those undertakings in effect when the change happened were affected. If you haven't already, I'd definitely check this out before you submit a new sponsorship ap - just to make sure it won't get delayed over that. Better to know, for sure, that you're not still responsible for that undertaking before you submit another sponsorship application.

I only sponsored him from 2001 - 2004 - then we divorced in 2006 - after being separated for 2 years. I'm 100% sure it was just three years, cuz we celebrated the day I was off the hook! haha (in a funny way)
