Sponsor's PR to expire soon

Hi Everyone,

My application has already been sent to CIC in July this year and as per the dates mentioned on the website they have started working on the application. However, my husband's PR card (sponsor, currently staying in Canada) will be expiring soon(this month). We are planning to get it renewed. However, please could someone advise on the below points-

1. Will an expired PR card of my husband can cause any delays in the processing of my application.
2. Shall we inform CIC soon after applying for the renewal of PR.

1. no, i can't see how it would, especially since he plans to renew it.
2. no, not unless CIC specifically asks for it to confirm his eligibility as a sponsor.
