Sponsoring Wife with Canadian Citizen Children

Hello,

A friend of mine is trying to sponsor his wife, his childrens are born overseas but are eligible for canadian citizen and they are in the process of getting their citizenship and passports soon. Is there a financial requirement if he is not sponsoring any dependants since they are already citizens or still he has to be fulfill the financial requirements.

There is no minimum income requirement for sponsoring a spouse, regardless of whether there are kids and regardless of their status.

They do have to show how they will support themselves without government help.
