My wife and I were married here in BC 2 weeks ago, when her and her daughter were up on vacation. They went back to the US, and I'm starting the process here.
Questions I need answered- does the daughter just come as a dependent "A" class under her moms application, being 15?
If my divorced ex wife is back in South America, I just have divorce certificate from here, her country and city there but no address to provide, no big deal?
Is there 2 general applications, old and new one to submit, as I read somewhere there it was to be that way now?
It's been years now, and the process has changed for the better online, but am stumped at some of the questions on the forms, just want to be correct first time submitting.
Thanks, and will be around here often, a SUPER group of people here!

Your step-daughter is a dependent on your wife's application, her information is filled out on the IMM008DEP form. If she is accompanying your wife to Canada, your wife must either have sole custody or proof that her other parent is in agreement with her emigrating.

Provide as much information as you have about your ex, explain any details you cannot provide.

There is one application, composed of two parts, sponsor and applicant, and the entire thing is submitted to CPC-Mississauga. See the forms and Guide here for current information on the process: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

Read through them with your spouse, start gathering your documents, ask any questions you need to here. Good luck!
