I would like to ask one more situation :

Suppose I planned to land (Canada) single, be there for a few months, land back to my own country, marry, go back to Canada, then apply / start spouse's process.

the query is (Financial status) - suppose if i am a jobless (not even a part time), and i am financially weak to sponsor my wife. I do not have even a single penny to sponsor my spouse . What will happen at that time ? am i eligible to sponsor her ?

Second query is minimum time span - what is the minimum time span that i can get back to my country ? are there any rules? like 6 months, so so .. ? is there any time barrier to to sponsor spouse ?

thank you for your valuable suggestions

1.) You can't use the term "land" unless your specifically talking about entering Canada for the first time as a permanent resident. From your post it seems as if you are a Canadian PR or citizen, or else why are you talking about "sponsoring" your spouse?

2.) You need to provide more information. What's "my own country"? Who is the person being sponsored - you or your spouse/conjugal partner/common-law partner? What is your relationship status?

3.) It depends on the province. If you live in Quebec, you don't need to show proof of funds to sponsor someone in the spousal category.

ddobro2,

Apologies for incomplete query.

Here is my situation :

I am Entering Saskatchewan on 2012 for the first time, i have Visa. I am single till now, and want to marry. So, i want to know the situations on worst condition.

Okay, I still need clarification. Which visa do you have? PR? Which stream did you go through? If you're landing in 2012, you obviously cannot sponsor anyone until you become a landed immigrant. I'm not sure what "worst condition" you're referring to. If you want to sponsor someone from the spousal category who is not a spouse, you have to have lived with this person for 1 consecutive year (for the common law category) or been in "a conjugal relationship for at least one year" (you were prevented from living together for some reason) in order to be considered eligible.

i was in the exact situation, landed in december 2010 as single and became a permanent resident, got married in february 2011 and sent my sponsorship application in march 2011. there's no minimum time that you must have lived in canada in order to sponsor a spouse.
as for job and income, i had no job and no income either, so i just wrote the situation and explained that i have recently became a permanent resident myself and i'm looking for a job and explained my future plans and also sent a bank statement showing the savings i had. just write an explanation in a letter for them and you'll be just fine.

Glad I found someone with same case as me. I will be PR soon, though I am already in Canada on work permit. I was worried about getting married as soon as I land in case they think its MOC or something. How is your process coming along vivi2?

Vivi2, and Ddobro2

Visa : Immigrant, but applied for PR.
Visa date : 2011
First time entry in Canada : 2012
Status : Single
Prov. : Saskatchewan

Situation : Want to marry, and want to be with Spouse

Condition 1: Marry, send back my visa, and submit another form along with my spouse's document (some one suggested me, in this forum, canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spouse-and-visa-expiry-t86897.0.html )

Doubts with Condition 1: Shall they give me visa again ? how long will i take ? is there any case that the applicant did not get visa in this condition ?

Condition 2: Land as single in Canada, get back to own native country, get back to Canada, and start Spouse's application (I prefer out-land one)
Doubts with Condition 2 : What is the minimum fund that i should have in my account ? what is minimum earning level of me ? What is minimum time span on these process ?

If there are any other way out, please let me know. The simple situation is - I am single, i want to marry (from my own country) and want to be with my spouse in Canada in minimum time spam. Condition applied - i am in worst situation and do not earn much, because it takes time to convert my foreign degree to a Canadian equivalent, and so on ... i can not wait 4/5 years.

Hope, i simplified my problem. Thank you in advance.

there's no minimum amount of money or earning for spouse! federal or quebec, doesn't matter, no minimum! you just have to show that you are able to support yourself and have plans for establishing yourself and someone else in canada.
there's no such thing as time span, however note that when you are a permanent resident you have to reside and stay in canada in order to be able to sponsor someone.
for condition 1, if you marry before getting your own status, you have to inform them and they will add your spouse to your file, so it will take more time for them to complete the case, i don't know how much time tho!
so if you are in a hurry to become a pr yourself you better wait till you get your residency yourself and then get married and sponsor your spouse. if it doesn't matter for you that your own case might be finalized with some delay, then you can get married and inform them and add your spouse to your file.

Well it looks like CharlieD gave you some pretty good advice. I'm assuming you're a student in India and you're not able to land as a PR (you don't mention it but I assume you went through the FSW stream) until right before your visa expires because of your studies. Since I don't know alot about the first option that you propose, I'm going to suggest you land, go back to India to marry your fiancee, and then sponsor her outland once you return to Canada. Your concern there is purely financial and obviously the worst case scenario with that would be that your sponsorship application would be returned to you, the $75 you paid would be returned to you, and you'd be told that you don't qualify as a sponsor for the income reasons at that time, if that were to be the case. However you don't know that they will not approve your sponsorship, so just go for it. Like CharlieD said, it's 6 months or less for India for 80% of applicants but she may be able to visit on a TRV. What you need to remember the most is that you absolutely cannot marry her before you land, like CharlieD said. If you do that, all your options go out the window.

I'm almost confident that you will be fine and that, unless you are on government assistance or declared bankrupt, they won't consider you ineligible to sponsor a spouse. But just to know what goes into the application, take a look at the questions in the Sponsorship Evaluation form (in Part 1 here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp) as well as numbers 17-19 on the checklist (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5491E.PDF). These are the financial/income/employment evidence you would be providing as the sponsor. Good luck.

Thats good to know! I am hoping to get married 1 month after I land too

Friends,

What do you mean by getting married after a month of landing ? Returning to your home country, get married there and return back to Canada ? or get married in Canada ? I am planning for the same, but i will return to my home country to marry. Just wanted to know, that's it.

You return to your home country and get married there.
