Greetings all

I am new to this forum, so i am sure my inquiries and answers are somewhere, amongst these thousands of threads...but here is mine:

I am legally married to my Jamaican Husband, who has never left the country. He was just refused a visitng Visa...and from what i am seeing is that it takes up to 18 months, before the whole process is complete. To me 1.5 years of wait, makes me sick. I go back every few months, when work pemits, or when i can extend long weekend. Otherwise, the seperation anxiety takes it's toll on a daily. :'(

Does it reallytake 1.5 years from Jamaica to sponsor your spouse??

After bein refused a Visiting Visa...can we reapply in the meantime??

What is the shortest legnth of time someone has seen a spouse come up on a PR from Jamaica??

Thank you all in advance for you responses.

Bettr question:

Has anyone on here mad it to canada from Jamaica yet??

If so, how long?

Try the Jamaica thread:

And yes - plenty of people have made it to Canada from Jamaica.

Don't reapply for a temporary visa unless he can show much better proof than he had the first time that he will return to Jamaica once the visa expires. A spouse who has applied for a PR visa has almost no chance of getting a TRV.

loads of ppl make it to Canada from Jam...My husband has never left yard either, was refused trv in 2009 without interview, and basically we got thru in 4.5 months! Chin up girl!

Hi TARTAR,

Are you sponsoring your spouse from Jamaica? If you are, please visit us on this thread:

There is a spreadsheet for the thread and you can see the timelines for others that have sponsored their spouses from Jamaica. :D

Ok, say I get my visa stamped and all that. After I get back my passport, how long can I stay in Jamaica, I would call itt preparation time. Do I have to leave before a specific date???
