Sponsoring Refugee

Hello there,

I am sponsoring my spouse who is a refugee in another country. My question is: when she arrives to Canada, will she remain a refugee under Canada or will she just be granted a permanent residence of Canada status.

Another question, are refugee claimants treated differently than citizens/persons with work/student visas? As in the process. Is there anything else we should expect?

She will be a "landed immigrant / Permanent Resident", not a refugee.
