is there something specific u need help with?

I would like to sponsor my parents and would like to know the minimum income requirement I should have in order to prove CIC that I can afford them to live with me.

Also how much time they take to process the case as I heard that they have deliberately created a backlog in order to stop old people coming to Canada.

Thanks

Processing times are provided in the link below. Add the Mississauga processing time (47 months) to the country processing times to obtain the total processing time:

The income requirements are displayed in Table 3 of the link below. Note that you must include yourself and your existing dependents in the calculation. In other words, if you have a spouse and a child and wish to sponsor your mother and father - you will have to show LICO (low income cut off) for five people.

Just a quick question on LICO for sponsoring parent.
If we are family of 2 (husband and wife) and sponsoring my mother and her dependent (over 18). What’s the minimum income requirement?
According to table 1 & 2, it’s $28,315+$22,499=$ 50814 and according to Table 3 LICO for family of 4 is: $41,307.

Which one is correct?

Which one is correct?
Sponsors (guarantors) are presumed to be able to satisfy their undertaking if in the last 12 months they have had gross income from Canadian sources equal to the SUM of the amount shown in Table 1 and the amount in Table 2 below. These amounts are indexed each year

Based on that analogy it means $50,814 but as per table 3 that means LICO which is the table you must use

Thanks.
But on table 1 it says that Basic Income Required by Sponsor to Meet Basic Needs of Own Family ;total Number of Family Members---4 is $40,205 which differnt than the LICO amount from table 3.

It makes more sense that it would be the combination of Table 1&2 but the table 3 creates the question.

You need to be using Table 3 (LICO) if you are sponsoring a parent.

bloomfield - The correct amount for you is: $41,307

That's more comforting.

What's the point of having table 1 & 2 then? Just wondering.
