Hi all,
I will be obliged if someone can help with the following:

My son will be sponsoring me and my wife under the parents and grandparents scheme. We have hit the following snag regarding filling the form for me:

1) I do not have a birth certificate as it was not a requirement in my country. Will that be a problem.

2) I worked as a seaman till my retirement. Which is the best way to fill up the form for the past ten years residence, as i was sailing at sea most of the time visiting different countries but never staying more than a week in any port. Only during my vacation i was back in my country and stayed maybe three or four months there every year. Will really appreciate any suggestions which will also be acceptable to CIC.

Hello!

1. Can you ask for a birth certificate to be issued to you? There has to be some sort of record of your birth.. Where are you from?
2. I would list your main residence in your country, and maybe write a letter explaining your situation?

Hopefully others will chime in as I don't really have any other suggestions :p

CaroM8,

Thank you for your reply.

1) There will be no record of births/deaths as there was great ethnic turmoil there when i was born.

2) That is a good suggestion. Thanks again.
