Hi,

After lots of discussion and research, I was not able to find a concrete answer to my following questions:-

To sponsor a Pakistani Spouse living in Pakistan do I need the following:

1. Her CNIC
2. My CNIC
3. Urdu version of Nikanama

First, do I need CNIC(s) for both or not?

Secondly, if yes, I need to get all the above 3 documents translated. Hence, do I need affidavit from translator as well that he made a true translation with accuracy and he is competent to do so?

thanks,

1.) You don't need for the sponsor.....only CNIC for the sponsored persons (i.e., your wife and any of her dependent children).

Refer....Spousal Sponsorship Checklist.......Part B....Supporting Documents for Sponsored Persons.......Q.1
Refer......Country Specific Requirements - Pakistan.

2.) Yes......you need affidavit from translator.

Translation of documents
You must send the following for any document that is not in English or French, unless otherwise stated on your document checklist:
  • the English or French translation; and
  • an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
  • a certified copy of the original document.

Hey. Can you tell me if sponsoring from Pakistan is paper based or online and approximately how many months does it take?
