Hi every one I just joined this forum hoping that u all might help me by giving any information or experience u had in the same topic. Here is my case, I lost my Dad last year and within a year and half later my mom passed away. I am the older child. I live in Canada . I have two sisters age 16 and 14 .me and my husband decided to bring them here (to Canada) given the circumstances that their is no body to take care of them and we submit an application, was filled up very carefully based on instruction, put together every documentation needed based on the check list. The application accepted and sent to visa office in Kenya. They sent me an email that they got the app. and gave me file #,but never heard from since then. Am so worried since the kids are so in danger and vulnerable situation for so many things. Recently ,we r thinking to hire a lawyer but what he is going to do that we did not do ?or what should I do to push them(visa office) to make the case so argent? is my Qn. how long it take to get it done?,,,is there any possibility that they can deny visa? Am so confused, pls any body with info. or experience with sponsoring orphan siblings ,,,,pls help me how to make this work out as soon as possible. Thanks.

A lawyer won't make a difference. Since you have a husband, you cannot sponsor siblings. Perhaps, if you adopted them you could.

If not, then most likely the application will be rejected, and you'd need to appeal the decision based on humanitarian & compassionate considerations. Unfortunately this can be a very long process.
To avoid the long process of adoption in my country, I took legal guardianship ,,,I mean I am legal guardian for the kids and I have to, as they have no body to take care of them. when it comes to meeting the requirement we did check each and every statement and description on the website .so according to all information we got from the website, I am eligible to sponsor them. Because, we all meet the requirement .My problem is, as long as we are eligible and given the urgency of the case why am not getting a response within this period of time from visa office?,,, what should I do? should I apply for visitor visa just to get them here for a while ?do u think this will work? just confused?

There is no such thing as "urgency" with CIC. Your application is put in it's place in line at your visa office with all the other cases of sponsoring dependent children. It will not be processed quicker than other cases just because you tell them it's urgent. However you can certainly send them a case-specific email explaining your situation and see what they do.
Since the children don't really have any ties to their home country anymore, I would think there is no chance to get visitor visas approved. Again if you wanted, there is no harm in trying to apply. Worst case is they are denied TRVs and you are out the application fee.
