Hi folks,

1. If my wife is not accompanying me this time then can i sponsor her later on so that she can migrate ?
2. If yes then how much time it will take for her to get the visa if i sponsor her ? (My visa office will be Singapore)
3. Can she visit Canada with any other visa before she migrates ?

Please suggest urgently.

1. Yes - you can sponsor her later provided she was declared as a non-accompanying dependent in your application and went through the medical, etc.
2. I believe it's taking around a year right now for many. Look for the Singapore thread and read about the timelines there.
3. She can apply for a visitor visa but there is no guarantee it will be approved. Chances are it will be refused since CIC will know she has plans to remain in Canada long-term.

Hi Scylla,

Thanks a lot.

Yes, she will be declared as non-accompanying spouse. I have seen in the processing time in CIC site. Unfortunately its a lengthy process. It takes 85 days for the "Assessment of Sponsor" and 31 months for "Assessment of Person Being Sponsored " from Singapore office. So it seems to be around 3 years long! Sad to know about visitor visa as well!
