Sponsoring my Swedish common-law

Hi everyone,

Thanks in advance for reading this - it's my first time on the forum.

I am a Canadian citizen, my common-law partner is Swedish, we have a daughter (she has dual citizenship). We are currently living in Sweden but want to move to Canada in July 2018, we have been living in Sweden since Nov 2016. I am in the process of filling out the application package and have a number of questions, hoping to get some help:

1) Since I'm processing an Outland Application - what documents can I provide that will prove our intent to move back to Canada? (I am self-employed and have continued my business during our time in Sweden.)

2) Additional Family Members - I find this form very confusing. We have to list his parents and his brother on this form even though they are not being sponsored? I'm also assuming that we don't need to add our daughter on this form since she is already a Canadian citizen?

1) Letters from friends and family acknowledging your plans to move back to Canada, screenshots of research/correspondence about which neighborhood/city you plan to live in and schools you want to send your child, apartments and/or home listings you have looked at online are all a good start.

2) This form has nothing to do with who is accompanying your husband to Canada, and even Canadian family members need to be listed on it, including yourself and your child.

Keep in mind when you move to Canada in July, he will not be allowed to "move" to Canada yet as your PR app will not be done processing and he needs to be presenting himself as a visitor at the border, not someone who is moving permanently.

1) I still own a house in Canada and we will be moving back there. The letters from family/friends are a great suggestion.

2) Seems to be conflicting info on a number of posts. But perhaps adding all of us on the form is the safer bet.

Another question - do you think it would be helpful to get an immigration lawyer to review the application package before sending? And any recommendations on a lawyer based in Toronto?

2. There is no conflicting information. He must fill out the form and list every single person that they ask for, including children.

The majority do this process on their own. A lawyer is not needed.
