Hi ... I'm engaged right now for almost 2 years and now my parents are being really iffy right now ... and I'm thinking about eloping butbthe thing is I work at my step fathers shop and I'm worried about sponsorship will I still be able to sponsor him if I have nothing at the moment? I'm really desperately in meed of some help please help me :(

Hello,

If you are sponsoring your husband there is no minimum income.
You don't need to prove that you have a job etc, but you will need to prove how you intend to support you and your husband when he comes to Canada.
You will also need to prove that your relationship is genuine.
Good luck with your application,
Sweden

Hello,

It is difficult to say without knowing your full situation. I suggest you read the guideline on sponsorship, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp to understand what are your obligations as a sponsor, and what you will need to prove, and then take a decision on that.

As a sponsor you will need to prove that you have a way of sustaining yourself and your partner when he comes to Canada ( I suppose he doesn't live in Canada for the moment, correct me if I am wrong), because as a sponsor you can not go on welfare when you sponsor your husband, and for 3 years after that (see the sponsorship undertaking).

As well, you will need to prove that your relationship is genuine, and not to get the person into Canada. Being married is not enough, you will have to prove that it is a genuine marriage. (See on the guidelines again, it explains more clearly what are the things you need to consider). In the application, you will also be asked if your family knew about your relationship etc. If you decide to elope, you will have to explain why you choose that solution. be prepared to show proofs of your relationship etc.

Good luck,
Sweden
