I posted this question in another thread but then thought it may be better to create a new topic :)

My Korean husband and I both live in Korea. I have been here for around 8 years and we got married in July 2014. I am hoping to apply for his permanent residency in Canada as soon as possible but the main thing I am concerned about is proving my income over the last 12 months.

Up until February 2015 I worked a stable full time job. However, for the past year, I have had no real stable income. I have been working short term part time jobs and teaching private classes. For example, I had one job from April to July that I quit. I then had a 3 month contract teaching business English part time from October to December.

The sponsorship evaluation form asks for the sponsor's employer and address. My question is - do you think I need to find a full time job and then work there for a full 12 months before even thinking about applying to Canada? Or would I somehow be able to show that I receive income from a variety of short term/part time jobs?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :-*

There is no minimum income required to sponsor a spouse, nor are you required to be employed. You need to show that you can support yourselves in Canada without welfare. This can be shown through any combination of your income, your spouse's income, savings, investments, family assistance etc.
