Hi all I have concerns regarding my curent application.

Me and my husband got married March 4, 2017 and he arrived on visitor status March 2, 2017. We decided to do inland sponsorship. We sent it off but it returned due to improper documents. We sent it off again and they recieved it July 6, 2017 and started processing in August.

We did not apply to extend his visitor status and it is now January. We thought when we applied for open work permit at the same time as PR that it would give him implied status. We couldnt link our account but with the CIC application online status it just says in progress. It says they sent corrospondence of reciept in August as well. We are unable to get a hold of anyone even after sending emails months ago about being unable to link his account to the application. Do I mka emy account and link it as the sponsor or does he have to link it as the one being sponsored?

What do we do now? I printed out the guide and no where did it mention that I had to keep renewing his status. I am reading posts and dreading the worst. Does he not have a status? What to do to rectify the situation?

Please help!

He has implied status if you included an OWP with the inland application.

Call IRCC and ask about the status of the OWP, as it should have arrived by now.

Which number is that? I called this number 1 888 242 2100, it just says it still has not been reviewed. Also I still havent got help linking the application and we asked that back in August! Thank you for replying!

Thank you for the reply,
The main reason I was concerned was that this was a response from a previous applicant who waited 10months for OWP
"Thank you for contacting IRCC we verified the information you provided. Unfortunately, you are not eligible to be issued an open work permit at this time sonce you did not have a valid temporary resident status when we recieved your work permit application. Once your file is approved in principle, your permit will be sent to you."

And we did not apply for TRP so will we be in the same boat as this couple?

That applicant was out of status when they applied. Your spouse wasn't.

A TRP is something completely different and has nothing to do with your situation.

Thank you. You dont know how much this has helped put my mind at ease. You are amazing. How are you so knowledgeable? I have a friend sponsoring her common law partner and is telling me different stories making me confused and worried.
Again thank you.
