HI
I am a resident in UK with a Philippine passport. I am recently married with a Canadian who's under ODSP in Ontario. I know he's allowed to sponsor me but my question is if I got children in Philippines. I have read in website that one can sponsor a spouse with dependent children. will that be applicable to my husband, can he sponsor me and my atleast youngest daughter (16 yrs old)? if I submit too an open work permit together with our application for sponsorship? how long will that take? is it better to stay in Canada (am currently on a visit visa) to do the application or is it better for me to do the application while I am in UK? we have been struggling with this long distance relationship for two years and it cost both of us to travel back and forth just to be together. I don't want his benefits to be affected coz I think as a health care worker from my experience in uk would not be enough to sustain us , as I have obligation back home to help my family every month, coz I have to work In UK 4 to 5 days with 12 hours shift weekly and I am still struggling with all my basic expenses. how much it will affect his benefits if I work? and I read in some topics here ... one person in ODSP for 30 years have been cut off as sson as they placed the application. Is that possible? We want to live together desperately, but I don't think I can shoulder all our finances on my own. will someone enlighten with me this please

Yes your children are added as dependents as long as they are under 19.

In order for you to apply for an open work permit, you need to apply inland. No open work permit if you are applying outland. Current processing times for both inland and outland is 12 months.

I am not too family with the ODSP so someone else will have to answer that.
