Sponsoring a visitor's visa for my Cambodian partner

Hi everyone,

I have been in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend for a year and eight months now. Because I was helping take care of my mom here I couldn't be with her for a long time.

My immigration lawyer said I can spend time in Cambodia for a few months and apply online for a visitor's visa for her and say I will support all of her finances during her stay. I know I need to have her documents translated like land title and birth certificate etc, but I was wondering how do I find the proper translation company.

I would recommend you post your question to the Visitors section of the forum. Note that to be approved, your girlfriend will need to prove that she has strong ties to her home country and has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. If CIC suspects she may be coming here to marry you and live here, there's a good chance the visa will be refused. If at all possible, it would be preferable that she show her own Finances. Also, if she has never traveled before to a country requiring a visa (e.g. UK, US, etc.) I would recommend she request a 2-3 week trip tops.
