Sponsoring a Spouse with Misrepresentation Ban

Hello,

Please I need your advice. Can a PR person in Canada sponsor his spouse if she has recently got a 5 years ban to Canada for information misrepresentation after applying for a visitor visa?
I realise that there is no chance to re-apply for any visa now. But there still is hope that a spouse can enter Canada once she gets PR under Spousal sponsorship.

Unfortunately, with a misrepresentation ban he/she is ineligible for any form of entry into Canada for the period of the ban. You should be consulting with a good immigration lawyer (not a consultant) for options.

As others have said, spousal sponsorship will not be approved while a 5 year ban is in place. So the answer to your question is unfortunately no.

The only option available to the banned spouse to try to request access to enter Canada during the 5 year bad period is a TRP (temporary resident permit). See details below.
