Hi everyone,

I've looked around a little in this forum and found the information, that it is possible to sponsor a 2nd partner 3 years after the previous partner got their PR.

Is this still correct?
Does it require marriage in the 2nd case?

The situation is that my partner who is Canadian sponsored his ex who is from Hungary and now lives in Canada.
Me and him are not planning on applying for a visa in the very near future, I mainly wanted to check out what the possibilities are. He also would have to check when she got her PR but it might be a while ago already, they have been together for 6 or 7 years and broke up almost 2 years ago.
Would we need to get married because it's his second time?
He wasn't married to his previous partner.

I'm German in case that plays a role or anything.

Thanks in advance!

You have to be either married or common-law.
