We live already a few years in Canada. Recently we got approved for our permanent resident. We used the express entry program. Our son is 16 so he's on our application. Our daughter is 20 and studying in Canada at the University. Children over 19 years old can't apply with their parents.She has a study permit. Can we sponsor her to become a permanent resident as well?

Under the current immigration regulations, she is too old to be a dependant, so you cannot now sponsor her if she was declared as non-accompanying in your PR application. The same applies if she was too old to be included in your application when you submitted it. The limit on age is UNDER 19, so a 19 years old child would not be eligible.Windmill said:

If she wasn't eligible for inclusion in the parents application and not medically examined, IRPR 117(9)(d) would be in effect.Ponga said:
She was not included in our application since she was to old, so no medical either. It's kind of crazy that you move as a family and your daughter has to return and leave her parents and siblings behind. In 3 years she will have finished her university as a civil engineer which gives her enough points to apply on her own.

Thank you all for your kind replies. She's doing well in University so there's no reason she will loose her study permit. Friends of her are already joking to find her a Canadian husband 
She probably has to wait another 3 years before she can apply unless the rules will change under the new government.

I am waiting for the same, hopefully they change the law in 2016, my child is going to turn 22 March 2017, let's pray
that we can make it.
