Hi all,
First of all, i would like to extend my gratitude to users of this forum who have answered all of my prevous questions.

I'm sponsoring my wife to come to Quebec and we have started to fill out our application forms.
I have a few questions that i would appreciate some feedback:-

Question 1:-
On her general application form for Canada (Form IMM 0008), Question 6 asks "Have you received your Certificat de Selection du Quebec (CSQ)"?

For us the answer is NO. Do we need to apply for the CSQ now? It was my understanding that CSQ was done afterwards?

Question 2
On my application form ( IMM 1344), the checklist states that the form needs to be signed by myself(sponsor) and the person i'm sponsoring (Sponsored person)
However, on the guideline, it states that this form do not need to be signed by the sponsored person if she intend to live in Quebec.
On the guide 3900, page 12 it states "Sponsored persons who intend to reside with their sponsor in Quebec are not required to sign the IMM 1344"

Question 3
When we provide photocopies of our documents such as passport, marriage certificate etc, do we need to get it certified?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

1. CSQ : Just check No on the CIC form. The applicant (your wife) cannot apply for her CSQ until the sponsor (you) gets Sponsor Approval. The CIC form is confusing in this regard, but I believe that's because it's a Generic Application used for everyone! and other types of applications require that the applicant has a CSQ, but for family class sponsorship, it comes in the middle (Sponsor Approval > CSQ > PR application).

2. I'm not sure... I never even noticed this in the guide!! I think I ended up signing it, but I can't remember. It didn't seem to have an effect on my partner getting SA...

3. If the checklist just says "photocopy" then it doesn't need to be certified unless it's an official translation or a "statutory declaration" of something (use a commission of oaths for the latter). It should be stated somewhere what needs to be certified, what needs to be an original (e.g. police clearance checks), and what can be just a photocopy (e.g. passport)

The only thing your wife will need from he U.K. is the original police certificate which must be sent in with your application before 3 months. Marriage certificates in English or French and a copy of her birth certificate and passports and of course original immigration photos.

Thanks guys for your replies.
