Hi,
My case is required to fill in the questionnaire for spouse/common-law inside Canada (IMM 5285). There is question 6 which I am a bit confused, the details as follow:

Q6: If you are married, answer a) and b). If not, proceed to question 7
a) was your marriage arranged? No or Yes (provide evidence of your relationship)
b) was there a honeymoon? No or Yes

Q7: Were there formal ceremonies to recognize/celebrate your relationship e.g., engagement ceremony, traditional/customary, marriage ceremony, commitment ceremony, partnership ceremony, reception, etc...?

The point here is: what question (Q6 or Q7) should I answer as we have actually married and the wedding had already been arranged by us at wedding chamber and at a restaurant. Which meant we have all necessary ceremonies required to be a completed wedding from engagement to commitment and reception... therefore, I thought would fill in question 7. However, I was not quite sure which one I should answer and whether I understand it correctly.

Please help me to clarify as soon as possible.
Thank you for all your kind attention
Kathy

You are misunderstanding Q6. It means was the marriage itself (you meeting your spouse) arranged by a third party? In many cultures, it is traditional for two people who have never met to have their marriage arranged by a third party or by family. This question is not about the wedding. And Q7 refers to if you had formal celebrations of each event. Like when you got engaged did you have a party with family and friends to announce and celebrate your engagement?

You answer both 6 and 7.
The instructions mean that if you are married you answer 6, and then go on and answer 7 too. If you are not married, you skip question 6, and just answer question 7.

Thank you so much for your answers, I know how to do now for this question. Your help is so much appreciated.
