Sponsor Parent - How many family member including you are in this application

Hi

I am preparing to sponsor my parents PR, and while filling IMM008 Generic application form, I am bit unsure about answer to question #3 "How many family member including you are in this application?".

My Parents (they are not with me in Canada at present) + (My wife, one kid and myself) add up to 5 members. So should I enter 5 or 3 i.e. my parents and I?

Also in "Dependents" sections, who should be added as dependents i.e. Spouse + Children + Parents or just parents?
Confusion arises from the statement "You must provide the following details about each of your family members, whether they will be accompanying you to Canada or not. You must include your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable, and all of your dependent children, and those of your spouse and common-law partner, who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada."

No-where in the statements about parents is mentioned, is the purpose of the form is to collect information about sponsor or to be sponsored?

Hi

"Family members" refers only to the Principal Applicant, their partner and their dependent children. You, your spouse and your child are NOT included in the application. If your parents have no dependent children being included in the app, the answer for IMM0008 question 3 is "2".

One parent must be selected as the Principal Applicant. The other parent will be included in the Dependents section.
