Sponsor outside canada

Hi all,

I am a PR card holder and sponsored my wife's visa two years back. Due to some problems, I moved outside canada after I sent my sponsorship application. At that time, my sponsorship file was approved from Mississauga and my wife's file was transferred to the local office (Islamabad). I received a few letters from Canadian embassy (the usual stuff like marriage photos, police certs for all cities, etc.). I explained to the embassy that I had to move back to the my home country because of the family situation. In their last letter a year ago, CHC asked for financial proof that my wife wont have to rely on govt. aid for survival. I provided my account details and got a letter from my brother in Canada. Now, I haven't heard from CHC since sept 2009. Sent a few mails and made a case-specific enquiry but no reply came. I am now moving back to canada exactly two years before my PR card expires.
Can anybody provide me guesstimate about the status of my sponsorship app? Should I inform CHC about my return to Canada?

1. As you are a PR and sponsoring and out of Canada, there is a good chance that Isbad will refuse the application as per R130(1)

(1) Subject to subsection (2), a sponsor, for the purpose of sponsoring a foreign national who makes an application for a permanent resident visa as a member of the family class or an application to remain in Canada as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class under subsection 13(1) of the Act, must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who
(a) is at least 18 years of age;
(b) resides in Canada; and
(c) has filed a sponsorship application in respect of a member of the family class or the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class in accordance with section 10.
