Hello Everyone!
We're at the start of our sponsorship adventure! I am a dual British Canadian citizen (born and raised in the U.K., and Canadian by descent). I have never lived in Canada before, and I want to sponsor my Common-Law Partner. Per all the eligibility criteria, as a Canadian citizen I should be ok to sponsor. But I'm worried because the forms all seem to refer to my 'return' or 'restablishment' in Canada. I plan on moving there once the application is approved, but does anyone know if the fact I've never lived in Canada will make me ineligible?
I've visited several times, and have family there.
Thanks, I appreciate any responses!

It shouldn't. You will have to give a general plan to establish yourselves in Canada though.

Thanks for your response Profiler! Yes I'll be detailing our plan in as much depth as I can :)

They get that you don't have a crystal ball that says exactly when you might do things like start working...

That said, include details like "planning to reside with relatives" (and include a letter stating such from them), when profession you and your partner have. Etc.

This is exactly our situation too! my partner is a dual australian and canadian citizen (born and rasied in aus never lived in canada before)
he is trying to sponsor me to move to canada.
How is your application going?
