Hello,

I have recently received my PR in Canada and have been living here for 6 years. My parents are Moroccan and I would like to sponsor them to come and live here in Canada. Is this possible? What is the approximate wait time?

Thank you for any help.

Hello;

Firstly ...If you have received Canadian Citizenship rights, then it is possible.The other way you can not! with your PR status.

Please stop misinforming people!!!!!! You can certainly sponsor your parents while you are a permanent resident. BOTH Canadian citizens AND permanent residents are able to sponsor their family members.

Erico, I would suggest that you start by reading the instruction guide for family class sponsorship on the Canada Immigration website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/famcls.asp Please make sure that you also read the specific instructions for Morocco. It will take on average 1 1/2 to 3 years to finalize the application. Please see here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/08-fc-parents.asp#africa
