i have one question i just put in my sponsorship app for my husband 2 weeks he lives in jamaica
how long does it take to hear back from immigration saying they recived the app.

Girl, I'm just over 5weeks waiting for first response.. Some people you hear within a month, some more.. It's a long, horrible wait!!

First stage approval could be weeks to months depending on their work load,i know its hard to wait but be patient it will come

It takes 67 days from Mississauga to get an approval or refusal of the sponsorship.

as for your question, i sent in the app April 15/09 and had my approval letter as a sponser from CIC Miss May 8/09....and Kingston recieved our file May 12/09

stressed out wife.... you can also phone the CIC Miss. and inquire about your file... i phoned them on the fourth of May and they told me over the phone I was approved and that a letter was being mailed to me, so if you want just give them a call 1 888 242 2100

ive been approved for sponsorship on june3/10 and the application was forwarded to kingston jamaica they started processing it on july19 they also received the medical check so i was just wondering what happens now?

According to the CIC site and posted application processing time lines for Kingston, the next stage of processing will take approximately 7-15 months.

Sorry I didn't fully answer your question.

Here's what will happen during this stage:
- review of medical results
- review of police certificates
- review of applicant's personal history
- confirmation that your relationship is genuine
- possible background check

I'm sure I've missed a few items and hopefully someone else will jump in to supply additional info.
