I have a unusual predicament. My partner is sponsoring me in land and we will not hear nothing back until September 2012.
We are due our third child in July and most of our savings are gone.
The CIC state that they "the may refuse Visa if the sponsor goes on welfare" as they say may this means not a definite.
As Vancouver is expensive we have blown 60k waiting for the visa and that almost gone.
Is it worth the risk for the 5 months to take welfare until my work visa comes in?
any advice would be helpful
Michael

I dont think its worth it. Welfare basically makes you ineligible to sponsor. It may ruin your sponsorship all together. Any unemployment benefits? or under the table work an option??? Best of luck

I'd go for unemployment, since that won't affect your sponsorship like welfare will.
