Hi all, and thanks for all the incredibly helpful stuff in this forum, really making the process a little more manageable for my wife and I.

My wife is Canadian, I'm an American citizen. I am moving with her to Vancouver, B.C. soon, and we've just completed all of our paperwork. My questions are probably very basic and obvious, but I don't have a definitive answer myself:

1) Do we submit separately, i.e. her docs go in one envelope, mine in another? And if so, are we submitting duplicates of all the ancillary info (tax returns, photos, proofs of relationship, etc...) in each package?

2) Where is the best place to send the applications?

Thanks,

John & Laurie

There'S a great thread showing how one person packaged it all, I'm just searching for it for you. I have ours all in one package, separated inside into 3 envelopes - Sponsor Forms and supporting docs, Spouse forms and supporting documents, and Proof of genuine relationship.

This is what I followed.

Ack - one more question, related though...

In the sponsor checklist there's the obvious sponsor stuff, but also includes everything I, as sponsored person, have filled out and compiled based on the Immigrant guide checklist. Does this mean that even if we submit together that our envelopes should contain everything in each checklist separately (even if that means 100% duplication)?

thanks,

J

No, don't duplicate the documents or proof. The applications are actually just one application. It's not necessary to separate them even, though some people like to. They process them linearly - first the sponsor, then they forward the documents to your VO (if you are applying outland, regardless the answer is the same if you are applying inland.)
